Battle of the Pie!

It's the tale as old as time. People only trust certain people's cooking. I know who's macaroni and cheese, collard greens and even potato salad that I can eat. Normally, when I stray away from the cooks I like I am often disappointed. That still doesn't stop me from trying though. You see, if you don;t try something new, you'll never understand why what you like is so important.

I started asking people if they liked sweet potato pie and to my surprise, everyone

does but that is also one of those foods that you only trust a certain person to make. Well, I have been tasting my mother's sweet potto pie all my life and for the past 7 years, I've been making it on requests for family and friends. I knew that if people were going to defend Patti's pies that much that I need to put the taste to the test.

Now, please don't get me wrong, I love Patti! From her music to her cooking she is definitely apart of my upbringing and life. That doesn't mean I can't see which pie is better? They say there's a slice of the pie for everyone and I sliced my pie and hers up for a few people to try. I wanted to know what taste people preferred because we have two veery different pies.
